Target audience profile
One of the most important aspects of marketing and producing is figuring out who your target audience is.

A demographic is a set of objective characteristics that describe a group of people. In this case, people who will be willing to listen to or watch my music video.ï‚¡ Those characteristics include things like age, gender, class, ethnicity, sexuality, location, and sometimes education and lifestyle. The most important characteristic is age.
The demographic for my selected artist is most likely teenagers (14-25 year olds) of both genders from western society.
Interests – Music, Instruments, Tumblr, Photography, iphones, instragam, piercings, tattoos,clothing, shopping, dressing up, bands, gigs/concerts (local bands etc in small clubs)festivals, smoking, reading, cats, twitter.
Age Demographic - 14-25 year olds. People in this demographic are stereotyped to be listening to this type of music while: studying for exams (school, college, university); going to parties, and, just in general being at the most enjoyable time (socially) in their life.
The genre Alternative Rock is mostly identified with teenagers and yolung adults of both genders. Becuase of the increasing use of social media, the target audience has massively increased as it is much easier to find new upcoming artists and artists relating to the artist youre interested in (for example, the side bar on youtube). Also, because this particular genre is associated with so many others (indie rock, pop rock, punk rock, alternative indie).
Music may be an important part of their life - much like most of the target audience. Furthermore, most of the messages portrayed in this genre are meaningful and relate to the struggles of the target audience, this may be to do with the fact it is obvious that music is a huge influence on that generation.
As a group, people who listen to alternative rock are seen to be outcasts to society, due to the clothes they wear and their interests. They 'break the mould' of society as they do not conform to the 'mainstream' trends like listening to pop/chart music.This means that for my video, I need to make it relatable to my target audience maybe through the aspects of costume.
